About Studentopolis

Studentopolis is Canada's largest student-created student job resource which provides the user with a convenient and easy to navigate interface.

We have designed a clean and visually pleasing interface and have pooled job resources from several places including our users to offer an abundance of listings for students. Studentopolis is 100% free for students to browse listings and post their resumes and also free for employers wishing to post job listings.

Our goal is to offer a powerful tool for students who are seeking summer or part time employment, co-op or volunteer work. We believe in the potential of students and want every student to be able to find a job to help finance their education.

 

The Founder

My name is Matt Scriven and I am a student at Carleton University in Ottawa. I'm studying Interactive Multimedia and Design and have been running my own online business for 2 years now making websites for companies across Ontario.

I am a visual learner and through my experiences finding jobs, I always disliked the way job listings were presented in the past. I found them very plain and very boring. When displayed online, they did not target users based on location.

My goal with this website is to make finding a job more exciting for other students by mapping the listings and only showing them ones within their region - allowing them to choose listings which are relevant to them.

I have observed other students are not motivated to find jobs and this trend seems to be growing. Especially in tough economic times, the task becomes even more difficult for students.

Please use this website to the fullest potential. Employers: post your listings here to attract employees. Students: Read the listings and find a great job near you!
